What's next

I am sure I'm not the only one trying to determine how to prioritize things daily. In the hour that my littest sleeps I have the ability to conquer the tasks I couldn't do in the morning and won't have the energy to do at night.

So where to start?  The resume? the school work? The blog? the response to friends? the easy time waster of Facebook?

What is going to actually make me feel like I'm moving forward?  What can I feel proud of when I look back one day from now, one week from now, one month from now or one year from now?

Where do I want to be?  My organization is about to merge with another and with this I suspect my role will transition... to what and how I have no idea.  Do you ride it out, or do you take control of your future and see what other opportunities are out there?

What are the top priorities of you next career move?   When I wrote my list I started with things that affect my family... time with them the location and the pay.  I then went to the challenge and excitement and the passion it evokes in me.  I just watched this TEDx with Larry Smith and can relate to what he's saying about why I too might fail to have a great career if I put others ahead of my own interests and passion.

As much I still value my time with my family, I know that I would like them to follow their interests and passions too and to encourage this I must follow my own. I shouldn't opt out before I've even begun.
